Good Morning!
We have a short week this week!
We have read about geese and how they imprint on the first face that they see which is usually their mom. Scientists are using imprinting to help save endangered species by helping the birds to migrate according to the normal migration patterns. The birds are just following humans in an ultralight plane instead of their parents.
The title of the article is Love at First Sight. For Valentine’s Day, our STEM project is making a bow and arrow. The arrow needs to fly at least 5 ft. It should be fun.
Feb 18th will be our Valentine’s Day party. We will exchange Valentines and have a small treat. We will also be finishing our movie Wonder.
In Math we will be continuing with adding and subtracting mixed numbers. On Thursdays, I will be staying, until 3:30, for anyone who is having some difficulty or would like extra practice.
The school will be hosting the first fish feast on Feb 28th. Great food and fun! Hope to see you there.
We will be having spring parent/teacher conferences the first week in March. These conferences are not mandatory. If you would like to come and discuss your child’s progress, or what is to be expected for 5th grade please sign up here conferences
March 10th is our field trip to Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside. We will be needing drivers.
Have a great week!!!
Cindy
